Anita Graef is an acclaimed American cellist celebrated for her “superb artistry” and performances marked by expressive depth and vibrant polish. She has captivated audiences across the United States and internationally in concerto, chamber music, and recital settings, frequently appearing in collaboration with distinguished pianists. Ms. Graef has performed at Carnegie Hall’s Weill Recital Hall and the Dame Myra Hess Memorial Concert series, and has been featured on respected radio programs including WQXR, WFMT, and NPR. Her passion for both traditional and contemporary repertoire is matched by a deep commitment to outreach and education. A recipient of the 2022 Gheens Young Artist Award and the 2021 American Prize in Instrumental Performance, she has collaborated with major orchestras such as the Louisville Orchestra and Arkansas Philharmonic. She is joined in performance by pianist Nathan Canfield, whose musical sensitivity and artistry bring added depth to this richly expressive program. In addition to performing, Anita serves as Artistic Director of the Juliani Ensemble and the Tallgrass Chamber Music Festival.
