Mar 9-12, 5PM-7PM

Get ready for four high-energy days of beats, bars, and creativity at Jefferson Center’s Music Lab! Beat Camp is designed for middle and high school students eager to dive into beat-making, music production, and recording in a hands-on, collaborative environment. Throughout the week, students will create original beats from the ground up and debut their work right here at Jefferson Center.
Participants will learn from two powerhouse instructors. Poe Mack, a Roanoke hip-hop legend, brings real-world experience from more than 1,000 live performances and a career built on independent artistry. Joining him is 808-Ray, a Roanoke native turned Grammy and RIAA Platinum–winning producer whose credits include Beyoncé, Jay-Z, Lil Wayne, Royce Da 5’9”, and Fat Joe. Together, they’ll guide students through the creative and technical sides of modern beat production.
Whether you’re just starting out or already making beats at home, Beat Camp offers a fun, supportive space to experiment, learn new tools, and grow your sound.
