Pandit Debashish Bhattacharya is one of the most celebrated and innovative musicians in the world, widely regarded as the greatest slide guitarist of his generation. Born into a family of musicians in Kolkata, he began performing publicly at the age of three and has since logged more than 3,000 live performances across six decades. A true pioneer, he designed and patented four custom guitars, the Chaturangui, Ghandharvi, Anandi, and Pushpa Veena, each built to carry the full weight and nuance of Hindustani classical raga.

His 29 albums, two Grammy nominations, 2022 World Music Hall of Fame induction, and collaborations with legends including Ustad Zakir Hussain, John McLaughlin, Pandit Ravi Shankar, Jerry Douglas, and Derek Trucks place him in rare company. His latest album, "Legacy," features his family in a tribute to pioneering Hindustani classical artists. Tonight, he is joined by his son, Suryadipta Bhattacharya.
