TITLE:  Box Office Assistant

OPERATING UNIT: Program

PURPOSE: Provide knowledgeable and friendly information about the facility and programs offered to patrons and visitors; provide efficient, accurate ticket sales to patrons.

REPORTS TO: Box Office/Guest Services Manager

DIRECT REPORTS:  N/A 

FLSA CLASSIFICATION:  Temporary part-time/Nonexempt

MAJOR JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Operate a computerized ticket sales system, including processing sales, sponsor comps, and maintaining the ticket database.
• Greet visitors to the building; direct telephone calls and visitors to the appropriate staff.
• Research, study, and proactively address event-related and general inquiries, online, in person and over the phone.
• Reconcile box office receipts at the end of each shift; count cash drawer; prepare and submit daily reports to Director of Finance, or Finance Assistant.
• Process on-line ticket sales; and maintain on-line ticketing as needed, update/modify online sales on per show basis with Box Office/Guest Services Manager and/or Artistic Director.
• Proactively collect email addresses from patrons to create increased digital base of patron contact information.
• Generate up to date “tickets sold” spreadsheet for executive management
• Order all necessary supplies required to operate the box office.
• Update mailing and telephone calendar tools regarding upcoming programming.
• Provide clerical support to staff as requested.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
