The United Nations of Comedy Tour featuring four national comedians as seen on Comedy Central, HBO, Showtime, BET Comic View, MTV, Kathy Griffin's "Life on the D-List", and other national programs. The stars of the show are: Funnyman Skiba (Washington, D.C.), Gina Brillon (New York), David Foster (New York), and Bridget McManus (California). The tour promotes diversity by putting together some of today's funniest comedians in the country of various ethnicities and having them share the stage for stomach hurting laughter. The tour visit rolls through Roanoke, Virginia on Friday, February 3, 2012.
David Foster
David Foster is one of the top comedians in New York today. While many comics are sardonically cynical, David humorously and insightfully points out the stupidity of such popular theories and sentiments. Effortlessly transitioning between opinionated, personal, and light-hearted material as well, he amuses crowds of all demographics with a refreshingly original energy and perspective. Since entering the circuit in 2002 he has performed on HBO and Showtime and was a lead cast member as the character, “Sauce,” on MTV’s Boiling Points.
Today David can be found headlining clubs and colleges all over the country. Instead of graffiti and marijuana he has now focused his energy on comedy, the martial arts, and various meditation practices. His range of abilities and original perspective look forward to great success, likely as a comic, actor, and writer as well.
Bridget McManus
Recognized for her provocative and uninhibited style, stand-up comic and actor Bridget McManus stars in her own show called “Bridget McManus Presents: That Time of The Month” on the LOGO Network. McManus also hosted LOGO’s award winning comedy show, “Brunch with Bridget”, “The Jam”, a self-help show on Peoplejam.com, The 9th Annual Power Premiere, celebrating women in entertainment, and The Stonewall Inn’s 40th Anniversary Benefit.
McManus headlined the Sweet’s Cozumel Palace Resort, Isla Mujeres Palace and was a correspondent for the 8th International Gay Games in Cologne, Germany. She appeared in the Universal feature “Wanted”, was featured on “Kathy Griffin: My Life on the D-List” and guest starred in theWB.com series, “Joni & Susanna”. McManus graced the cover of BOUND Magazine and the cover of CURVE Magazine’s “America’s Funniest Lesbian” issue, ranking third in their national poll.
Gina Brillon
Gina is one of the funniest New Faces of the Latino and mainstream comedy scene. Starting when she was only 17 yrs old, she blew the crowd away with her very first performance at Stand-UP NY. It was only up hill from there, she would go on to grace the stages of The Comic Strip, Boston Comedy Club, and Caroline’s. Her comedy is the perfect blend of personal experiences, growing up racially mixed (Puerto Rican, Italian, American), and Sex Therapy (Brillon studied Sex Therapy before and during her stand-up career).
Watching her on stage, you can really see that she loves her job. She has been featured on Comedy Central several times including “New Faces of Comedy” and “Live at Gotham”. Brillon is also a Si TV favorite appearing on the show “Funny is Funny” as well as the Si TV “Comic Quickies” segments to be aired soon. Already a published poet, Gina Plans on writing feature films, shorts, and a sitcom based on her stand-up.
Not only a regular at clubs around NYC, she’s also known on the web, some raves that Gina “reminded us that Whoopi Goldberg was not the last funny female to hit the NYC comedy scene.”
Funnyman “Skiba”
Skiba reigns out of Washington, D.C. From the toughest comedy clubs around the country to the college tour, Skiba is one of the hottest comedians on the circuit. His style of comedy is animated and straight to the core. As the great ones, he places his life on the stage for the audience’s laughter and entertainment. Skiba has appeared on Comedy Central and a 3x All-Star on BET Comic View of which he also appeared on the “Best of Comic View”. He has performed with Martin Lawrence, Dave Chapelle, D.L. Hughley, Monique, and many others.
Currently, Skiba has landed as a feature on a radio station and working on other television and independent film projects. Skiba is known for making it difficult for other comedians to follow him. He wins the crowd within minutes of his stand-up and only a strong comedian can actually follow. His ability to have the audience fall in love was the reason he repeatedly headlined for the Laugh Out Loud Comedy Tour, headlined the first show of the National Stand-Up Comedy Series, and the official host of the United Nations of Comedy Tour/Project.
