Jefferson Center Scholarship Opportunities
Don Pullen Scholarship Fund - Give Today, Click Here
On January 14, 2012 Jefferson Center, the Harrison Museum of African American Culture, friends, family, artists and guests from the Roanoke Valley and beyond honored Roanoke native and jazz piano great Don Pullen with a special, sold out tribute performance.
Jefferson Center would like to continue the momentum achieved through the tribute by asking residents to help fund a scholarship program in honor of Don Pullen to ensure that today's youth are not forced to leave Roanoke, as Pullen did, to pursue their interests in jazz music.
Nearly half of all teenagers taking classes inside Jefferson Center's Music Lab and Jazz Institute programs require financial assistance to participate. Our promise to the community is that no student is turned away for lack of ability to pay tuition and that is why Jefferson Center is asking for your help.
Please consider a contribution to the Don Pullen Scholarship Fund today.
