Dan Zanes isn’t so much a children’s musician as he is the ringmaster of a musical circus--drawing kids and adults alike into a spontaneous celebration of communal song. The Grammy-winning Zanes and his band occupy a unique place in American music where sea shanties, indigenous songs, the spirit of early rock-and-roll and soulful originals collide. In a Zanes’ show, you might find a grandfather boogieing with his granddaughter while a mom belts out a folk favorite as she bounces a toddler on her lap. The community sing-along and schoolyard dance-off meet in Zane’s high energy approach. With electric guitar, drums, bass, mandolin, trumpet, fiddle and spoons, Dan Zanes & Friends make music a party—and everyone is invited! Click here for the full event listing.
